Ash Wednesday Service
Ash Wednesday is a day that you might see people with a cross of ashes on their foreheads. These ashes are a reminder of our need for repentance and the reality of our human frailty. The ash marks symbolize sorrow and mourning over sin. The Biblical support for this observation comes from the following verses:
Then I turned my face to the Lord God, seeking Him by prayer and pleas for mercy with fasting and sackcloth and ashes (Daniel 9:3).
There was great mourning among the Jews, with fasting and weeping and lamenting, and many of them lay in sackcloth and ashes (Esther 4:3).
We invite you to join us for our special Ash Wednesday service on March 5th, at 6:00 PM.

Good Friday Service
Good Friday is the culmination of the Christian season of Lent and commemorates the crucifixion and death of Jesus. It is called "good" because it marks the convergence of God's wrath and mercy at the cross, where Jesus became the sacrifice for our sins. Word of Truth church worships with a traditional Tenebrae service that is at least 1,000 years old. In a Tenebrae service the lighting is slowly extinguished little by little. The darkness progresses until the Christ Candle is extinguished which symbolizes the death of Him who is the Light of Life. However, the Christ Candle is re-lit at the end of the service signifying His victory over death and the devil.
A Tenebrae service is purposely meant to be different from a normal worship service.
We invite you to join us for Good Friday worship on Friday, April 18th, at 5:30 pm.
